Important Charleston, South Carolina ebonized fruitwood bracket clock, ca. 1790, the face signed Jas Jacks Charlestown No513, the backplate with elaborate floral and scrollwork engraving, with a three train movement with a rack of eight bells, 15" x 9 1/2". Few clocks by Jacks survive. He initially worked in Jamaica about 1777 and subsequently moved to New York, Charleston and eventually Philadelphia.

Condition

Glass replaced. Crack and small loss to right side of bezel. Old cracks to wood of rear door. Appears to currently be in working order, but Pook & Pook does not guarantee clocks to be complete or in working condition.
