Cast iron General James Wolfe fireback, late 18th c., featuring a portrait of British war hero General James Wolf, above a medallion surrounded by crossed flags, cannons, and swords. General Wolfe was killed on the plains of Abraham as the British army defeated the French, capturing Quebec City and winning a decisive battle in the French and Indian War; 26" x 23 1/4".
