Cased pair of McDermot flintlock dueling pistols, approximately .50 caliber, the walnut stocks with silver escutcheons and checkered grips, with a fitted walnut case bearing the remains of a label, and a 8 1/4" round barrel.
Condition
Fine as refinished. Barrels redamasced brown over some pittin on underside of barrels and at a 1/2" x 1/2" area on the left side of the barrels 2" back from the muzzle. The upper barrel flats are marked "M. Dermot Dublin" and have four platinum wedding bands above the gold filled pans. The locks are marked McDermot. The trigger guards are nicely engraved and reblued. The green felt lined case has remnants of an old illegible label and contains a leather powder flask, spring screw, oiler, patch cutter, and cleaning rod. The stocks are walnut with a plain 1/2" silver escutcheon to the opposite of each lock.
