Cased pair of James Purdey & Sons side lock double hammer shotguns, 12 gauge, 30" nitro proofed barrels, with finely engraved receivers, triggers, latches, and breeches and nicely checkered English walnut stocks, serial # 8899 and 8900, retaining original fitted leather case.
Mirror bores no remaining case colors or barrel bluing, however, the damascus is strong and clear. Butt stocks have leather pads which add another 1'' to the 13 1/2'' pull with 2 1/4'' drop both stock monogrammed escutcheons inscribed PJJ which match the initials on the case. Chamber length is 2 1/2". Inscription on top rib between barrels is "J. Purdey 314 1/2 Oxford Street London".
