Cased pair of D. Egg percussion traveling pistols, approximately .54 caliber, with articulated ramrods, checkered bag grips, lower barrel flat, stamped
W. Ellis, with British proofs, a fitted walnut case with a bullet mold, nipple wrench, cleaning rod, and powder flask, and 5" octagonal barrels.
Condition
Barrels nicely re-browned with clear damasking. The lower portion of the barrel, which is embedded in the stock, has browning over pitting and is marked "W Ellis". The upper flats are marked "D Egg" but the dyes used to stamp the two pistols were different. The locks, triggerguard and scroll engraved and reblued. The walnut stocks have been nicely refinished and recheckered and posess a circular thumb escutcheon. The locks have blued safeties. The purple felt lined case is devoid of a label but does contain a nipple wrench, bullet mold, cleaning rod and powder flask. Does not include small metal cleaning rod seen in photo.
