Carved and painted maple folk art obelisk form whimsey, inscribed "F.W.S. 1830", with elaborately carved panels with running deer with hearts, squirrel, human figure, cradle, farm animals, etc., 35 1/2" h. This piece was undoubtedly a gift from a groom to his bride.
All four sides are carved. Minor surface abrasions. Probably had loss to top. Black base is a later addition. No other apparent damages or repairs.
