Carved and painted figure of a Roman soldier, 19th c., 49" h.
Figure does not stand on its own, it gets mounted on a wall (was screwed to the wall). One arm reattached and brace added to back. Repaired break to right side of body. Losses to tips of headdress feathers. Very minor paint wear. Sliver of wood loss to center of base. Loss to spear in hand. Piece has depth and shape to it, it is not just flat.
