Carved and painted book-form box, 19th c., the box carved to resemble a stack of four books, one titled Laws of N. York, another reading Iacob Cats Zyn Werken, retaining its original surface with a wallpaper interior, 8 1/4'' h., 19 3/4'' w., 13 3/4'' d. Provenance: Sarah Hunter Kelly; Nimmo & Hart, Philadelphia, 1979.
Overall wear to surface and interior, most concentrated at bottom, edges and wallpaper.
