Carved and painted beaver trade sign, with a plaque inscribed Furs, 31" h., 40" w.
Carved on both sides (same carving, both sides identical). 19th c. As expected wear and condition consistent with age and use. Condition on both sides is the same. Age crack does not go all the way through. Overall very good condition. Origin unknown. "Furs" sign appears to be the same period as beaver portion but retains a different surface. Wire added to screw eyes to hold fur sign. Eye screws are replaced. No additional photographs available for this lot. Provenance: PA consignor.
