Bucks County, Pennsylvania Chippendale walnut tall case clock, ca. 1780, the arched bonnet flanking 3 turned finials, over a tombstone door enclosing a white painted face and 8-day works, inscribed "Benjamin Morris, Hilltown", over a waist with arched panel door flanked by ebonized fluted quarter columns, over a rectangular raised panel base, flanked by ebonized fluted quarter columns supported by ogee bracket feet, retaining its original dry finish, 94" h. The clock descended in the Cheyney family of Chester and Delware Counties.

Condition

Works converted to eight-day. Large chip to rosette. Excellent surface. 1" chip to spur. We do not guarantee the working condition of clocks. Parts: two weights, pendulum.
