Boston, Massachusetts William & Mary crook-back maple armchair, ca. 1730, the arched crest over an upholstered back and seat flanked by molded and scrolled arms with voluted hand holds and baluster supports resting on turned and blocked front legs terminating in Spanish feet joined by ball and ring turned medial stretcher and square side stretchers. Two similar examples are illustrated in Forman, American Seating Furniture 1630-1730, figs. 78 and 81. Provenance: Joe Kindig Jr. & Son Antiques.
