Boston Federal mahogany presentation banjo clock, ca. 1810, by Aaron Williard Sr., with white painted face over an eglomise panel of Neptune on a seahorse, 32 1/2" h.

Condition

Parts: period pendulum, two weights, and key. Rare about 1810 first generation "Improved Timepiece" presentation clock with Simon Willard's patented T-bridge movement secured to backboard with two brass pillar screws. Movement complete and intact. Signed dial untouched and in good condition, with period cut steel hands. Name is faint - may have been strengthened. Original bezel and sidearms, mahogany finish and gilding very well preserved. Crack in door tablet professionally bonded and conserved with minor inpainting. Both throat tablet and lower tablet are probably old and have some inpainting. Bezel side arms and face are original and excellent. Finial is a replacement. Note: this clock was never fitted with a giltwood bracket, as there are no holes in the box base. We do not guarantee the working condition of clocks.
