Berks County, Pennsylvania painted pine dower chest, dated 1776, decorated by the Black Unicorn Artist, the architectural façade with three arched panels and potted tulips, with a central panel of a soldier on horseback, 22 1/2" h., 44 1/2" w. Condition

Nice tulip hinges. Blue background probably enhanced. Feet replaced. Dated at bottom ("17" is in lower left panel, "76" is in lower right panel).
