Berks County, Pennsylvania hanging cupboard, ca. 1780, with a yellow and green molded cornice above a raised panel door with tulip corners and a central stylized tulip tree on an ivory ground with wrought iron strap hinges, flanked by dark blue and red half columns, the sides decorated with a star with four tulip birds, all above a base with a single drawer and vibrant stylized flowers on an ivory ground bordered by salmon molded half columns, 27 1/4" h., 21 1/2" w.
Lower drop shelf removed. Losses to side cornice returns. Brass replaced. Some areas of paint have been strengthened. Provenance: Robert Burkhart.
