Baltimore stoneware pitcher, ca. 1825, attributed to Henry Remmey Jr. or Sr., the front decorated with a finely incised cobalt bird perched atop a meandering branch, the reverse with floral sprays emanating from handle, 15 1/2" h. This is an exceptionally fine example from the Remmey family of potters and is likely their largest piece with an incised bird. Provenance: Crocker Farm Auction, October 28, 2017, lot 113.

Condition

Small repaired rim chip. Faint 1 1/2'' line to spout. Handle reattached. A few faint lines below decoration and running around side of base.
