Baltimore, Maryland silk on linen needlework sampler, ca. 1825, inscribed "The preceeding lines is the Prayer of her Teacher Sarah Gouldsbrough, Maryanna Dalphin work" with central oval enclosing verse surrounded by colorful trailing vines and flowers, with birds and butterflies in the corners all within an intricate scalloped border, 20 3/4" x 16 1/2". Excellent condition. Small stain near center.
