Baltimore, Maryland Chippendale mahogany high chest base, ca. 1770, labeled by Gerrard Hopkins (1742-1800) with later benchmade upper section, the carving attributed to William Brampton, 92 3/4" h., 41 3/4" w. Illustrated in Baltimore Museum of Art's American Furniture 1680-1880 from the Collection of the Baltimore Museum of Art, p. 30, fig. 15a. Exhibited at the Baltimore Museum of Art on long term loan.
