Baltimore Federal painted armchair, ca. 1815, attributed to John Findlay, the crest with landscape cartouche flanked by sawtooth border above vertical stiles with central painted medallion, over a caned seat supported by sawtooth seat rail resting on turned legs, retaining overall original gilt decoration on black ground, 34" h., 21 1/2" w.
