Baltimore classical mahogany two-part secretary bookcase, ca. 1830, attributed to John Needles, with a roll front desk and curly maple interior, 92" h., 39" w. A nearly identical secretary, labeled by Needles, is illustrated in Classical Maryland 1815-1845, fig. 146. Small sporadic veneer patches and losses, lacking keepers for lock, lacking escutcheon on lower door and drawer, missing one toe, stains to writing surface.
