Attributed to Samuel Baum (Union County, Pennsylvania), full stock percussion long rifle, approximately .48 caliber, inscribed S. B. on barrel flat, with silver fish, half moon, and teardrop inlays, 41 3/4'' octagonal barrel.
This rifle has 8 silver pin escutcheons & a silver quarter moon in the cheek rest. The furniture is brass including the 4 piece patchbox with 7 piercings. The thumbrest is missing & there is a 1/2 " piece of wood missing between the lock & the breech plug tang. There is a 3" repair on the left side from the nose cap back.
