An important pair of Philadelphia mahogany games tables, ca. 1770, the carving attributed to Martin Jugiez, 28 3/4" h., 34 1/4" w. Surviving pairs of Philadelphia games tables are exceedingly rare. One of this pair of tables is illustrated in Edward Stratton Holloway, American Furniture and Decoration: Colonial and Federal, plate 25. Provenance: Charles Woolsey Lyon, ca. 1928, ex collection Mrs. J.A. Haskell.
