American carved walnut sailor's shell box, inscribed on lid Eliza Maffett 1810, with a relief carved eagle with a banner inscribed Libety (sic) and Independence, with a shield breast and a conch shell, the interior compartmentalized with shells remaining, 1 1/2'' h., 13 1/4'' w., 9'' d.
Minor age crack to lid, old repaired break to length of top edge to side where lid slides in.
