Alexander Milne Calder (American 1846-1923), bronze of William Penn, 28" h. The present work is a much scaled down version of Calder's well known statue of Penn that sits atop Philadelphia City Hall. Cast in fourteen sections, it was completed in 1894 and stands at 37' tall. Provenance: A New Jersey estate; Weschlers Auction, February 3, 2012, lot 211.
