Abraham Lincoln signed appointment document, dated Aug 10 1861 for John S. Prettyman of Delaware to consul of the United States at Glasgow, together with an acceptance letter from Queen Victoria referencing the President's appointment, a book The Middle States Medical Reformer and Advocate of Innocuous Medication, 1855, written by J.S. Prettyman, another book Abraham Lincoln as Attorney for the Illionois Central Railroad Company, 1905 #135/200, and a contemporary book on the Prettyman Family.

Condition

Lincoln letter - contemporary frame, foxing and staining, creases, two very small holes to lower right. Victoria letter - contemporary frame, some stains, creases, not examined out of frame.
