Two Robert Barstow, Hanover Massachusetts Civil War documents, to include an American Ship Masters Association Certificate certifying Robert Barstow as an Approved Shipmaster, dated December 2nd, 1862 and a Discharge from the United States of America Navy Department signed by Gideon Welles, Secretary of the Navy, for Acting Master Robert Barstow, U. S. Navy, Hanover Mass., dated February 18th, 1867.
